We thank the editors for the opportunity to respond to the commentary written by Li et al., 2022, in response to our recent publication [1]. We also thank Li et al. for their interest in our work and would like to note their additional commentary.
The commentary raises questions: Were any differences found between the hypertensive
disorder of pregnancy patients with and without proteinuria? Another limitation is
that there were no non-pregnant women as controls. What are the background urine metabolite signatures
in women? Are there any differences between the two groups? How are they changed when
pregnancy occurs? Do they have the same change patterns for the two groups? We have
